Winter Camp 2025
This winter, we were excited to host our Winter Soccer Camp as part of our continued partnership with the La Puente Community Foundation. Through their support, we were able to sponsor 60 local kids ages 5β8, giving them the opportunity to participate in the camp at no cost and experience the game in a fun, positive environment.
Our younger group focused on building confidence and a love for soccer through engaging activities, skill-based drills, and games designed to keep players active and smiling. Creating accessible opportunities like this is a key part of our mission, and it was great to see so many young players enjoying their time on the field.
In addition to the younger group, we welcomed 30 players in our older age group, where sessions were designed to challenge players and bring out their competitive spirit. We focused on technical development, speed and agility, and game-like situations, ending each day with small-sided games to give players real match experience. The intensity, focus, and growth shown by this group throughout the camp was impressive.
A major highlight of the camp was welcoming our guest speaker, Natalia Maciel, a collegiate soccer player from Whittier, California, who currently competes at San Francisco State University. Natalia plays midfield and outside back for the Gators and was recently named team captain for the upcoming season. She is also majoring in Business, balancing both academic and athletic commitments.
Natalia shared her journey as a player, speaking about the extra training and dedication required to continue growing at the club and collegiate levels. She also emphasized an important message for young athletes: while competition and hard work matter, itβs just as important to have fun, express yourself, and enjoy the game. Her words resonated with players who are navigating pressure and expectations at a young age.
We are incredibly thankful to Natalia for taking the time to inspire our players and serve as a role model within the community. We wish her the best of luck as she continues her collegiate career and leads her team into the upcoming season.
Thank you to the La Puente Community Foundation, our families, and everyone who helped make this Winter Camp a success. We wish everyone a happy and safe holiday season, and we look forward to seeing you back on the field soon!
