Turkey Giveaway With a Pro Boxer

This Thanksgiving season, we were honored to support our community both on and off the field through a special day of free soccer, mentorship, and community outreach at La Puente Park.

We hosted free pickup games for players ages 9–15, welcoming 35 local players to come out, stay active, and enjoy the game in a positive and inclusive environment. The games provided a space for kids to connect, compete, and simply enjoy playing soccer during the holiday break.

In the spirit of giving back, we were proud to partner with the LA Sheriff’s Department, who generously donated 50 turkeys. With their support, we were able to distribute turkeys to 50 local families at La Puente Park, helping ensure more families could enjoy a warm Thanksgiving meal.

A special highlight of the day was welcoming our guest speaker, Alejandro “El Capitán” Alvarado, a professional boxer from La Puente, California, who currently holds an undefeated 3–0 record. Alejandro took time to share his inspiring journey to becoming a professional athlete, speaking honestly about the discipline, sacrifices, and challenges that come with chasing a dream.

What resonated most with the kids was Alejandro’s message about balance and preparation. He shared that while he is fully committed to boxing, he is also continuing his education and pursuing a career as a pilot, reminding the players of the importance of having a plan, staying focused, and preparing for life beyond sports.

We’re incredibly thankful to Alejandro for giving back to his community and serving as a positive role model for the next generation. His story showed our players that success comes from hard work, resilience, and believing in yourself, both in sports and in life. We encourage everyone to follow his journey and continue supporting a local athlete representing La Puente at the professional level.
